The Mind Loops Blog – Day 5 “Marvelous Mentors” Series: Stone Gossard, Pearl Jam Guitarist & Special Friend
Have you ever met a celeb who was rude or narcissistic? I have! But Stone Gossard is exactly the opposite. I’m grateful to know someone with his love of humanity, and his level of authenticity.
Stone isn’t a traditional “mentor” in my life since we’re friends and played music together. But he modeled beautiful human qualities that I admire and respect – so I added him to the Mentors Series – and I think we all can learn from his kindness.
How humble would you rate yourself? Too little of it (as in narcissism) or too much of it (as in making oneself “small”) tells me a Mind Loop or two are causing an imbalance in your life. Humility + generosity points to a strong, open heart. A great place to aim for.
From my heart to yours.

Hi Barbara, I hope you are well. This post made my day. I’m so happy you mentioned Stone. Although I have never met him he truly is my idol. This may sound weird but I often think to myself “ what would Stone do in this situation?” Haha. Not only does he inspire me to spend more time playing my guitar, but he inspires me to be humble, generous and thoughful. I have started a Facebook page called GreenLikeGossard to celebrate his work with the environment and to encourage others to make small changes in their own lives to make a difference. We are also dealing with a homelessness crisis here in Ireland and what he has done and continues to do has been truly inspiring. You are extremely lucky to have such a wonderful soul in your life, but you already know that 😉 I have seen a lot of your performances together on YouTube and they are fantastic. Visiting Seattle for the first time next month and I can’t wait 😊
Have a great week Barbara
Louise xx
