The Mind Loops Blog: Thanks+Giving – Nov, 2017
Thanksgiving is here! While it’s my fave holiday, I know it creates a TON of problems for many people. With all the organizing involved – not to mention some challenging family gatherings – Mind Loops of exhaustion, stress, resentments or loneliness are bound to get triggered.
One way I’ve seen people get bowled over by big holidays is stress from OVER-GIVING. Perhaps you’ve offered to host the Big Dinner, and now you’re frantic to get your home looking perfect. (Perfect? Really? Don’t worry about it cuz there’s no such thing, and people don’t notice the little stuff you’re freaking out over).
Maybe you offered to bring the turkey or to bake a bunch of pies and you’re already overwhelmed with work so now you’re wondering how the heck you’re going to do all of this and you’re getting a headache just thinking about it.
Or maybe you’re exhausted from over-worrying about a family member – not to mention offering to give rides or other tasks that are beyond your energy level.
So many of these Mind Loops are due to one thing that people forget to do: RECEIVE.
Here’s a video for you where I describe a little different take on Thanksgiving. In it, I describe how to make a subtle shift that will bring you unexpected joys…
