How To Motivate Yourself To Exercise When It Feels Like Drudgery

Feb 2016 – Do you say to yourself, “I know I should get my butt to the gym… But exercising is so boring! It hurts! It’s monotonous! I hate it!”

So you don’t end up going…

Which leads to Mind Loops about guilt and ‘shoulds’ and an even stronger resistance to exercise – AND a body that sadly doesn’t get taken out for its ‘daily walk’. (Yep. Just like a pup).

  1. OMG. I was literally thinking about all the reasons I don’t exercise just today. LOL I’m tired of the excuses, though. I need to really get a move on it, minus the guilt, of course.

    1. It seems to me that if we just START the things we don’t like, we often get INTO them, and then they’re not such a pain. (That goes for cleaning the house or weeding or any activity we’re avoiding). And it feels soooo good when we’re done! As far as physical exercise goes, that whole “no pain, no gain” thing is out the window too, according to new research. Just start moving more, to begin with. Doesn’t have to be a big deal. 🙂 Good luck Annmarie!
