The Mind Loops Blog – July 2024
It is HOT in Seattle right now. For any Seattlite, 65 degrees feels hot. Now add on another 30 degrees. That’s what we’re dealing with! And AC isn’t a “thing” in Seattle. I want to crawl out of my skin!
Because of this heatwave, I have been waking up at 5 AM for my 3-5 mile daily walk while it’s still cool outside.
Yesterday, while on my early morning walk… I came to a sudden stop. Because a massive branch of an ornamental plum tree split off, and was laying on the ground in front of me. Gorgeous and lush as ever – but now with a terrible gash at the trunk where it split.

Long before my near-death experience, I had abilities to converse with both animals and trees. Too woo woo for you? Too bad. Consciousness is not only for humans. It is everywhere. In everything. If you’re quiet enough, sensitive enough, and desire it enough, you can intuit, see, and/or hear things others can’t. This is real. It’s real for me.
Since my NDE, the ability to converse with plants and animals has only intensified.
(Before I continue my story, I need to lower your expectations about the ornamental plum tree. I was unable to converse with it. Like humans, some trees don’t want to talk. This one may have been in pain, or too tired with the injury. Why judge? But keep reading because I won’t let you down).
I stayed with the tree for some time, touching it with gentle and loving hands. Talking in soothing tones and sending it love. I told it I would honor the part that was now separated from the trunk – and was thus dying.
How would I honor it, you ask?
I returned with gardening shears and snipped off several branches. I walked home, understanding I was holding a piece of the consciousness that is/was that Tree in my hands. I created a bouquet. It is beautiful. This being that we call a Tree is now honored in my home.

Questions For a Tree
Years ago, I visited Sequoia National Park in California. The trees there are ancient – as in 3,000 years old!
Which means some of those Sequoias sprouted ONE THOUSAND YEARS before the birth of Christ. And before the Roman Empire even existed, let alone ruled. That old.
As I mentioned, I have the ability to converse with trees. Quite a few of those Sequoias had things to share with me at that time. In fact, they were eager to share with me. Many warned of a major earthquake coming “soon.”
(For Christmas that year, I gave all my loved ones earthquake preparedness kits! They did their best to act like that was normal lol. Later it dawned on me that the word “soon” to a 3,000-year-old is has a vastly different meaning than to a 35-year-old. At least we’re prepared!).
I plan to return to Sequoia National Park this fall. So here is my question to you:
If you had the opportunity to talk to a Tree… what would you ask it?
I intend to locate a chatty Sequoia – and I will several questions I receive from readers to ask it.
Send me your “Questions for a Tree” to:

And the next time you walk by a tree…
Imagine it can sense you; it may even want to tell you something. If you’re curious… stop and quiet yourself. Touch the bark. Look deeply at the colors and textures, feel the warmth, roughness, or smoothness. Send it love.
You may very well receive a rush of love in return.
